Gee! Incomplete inventory of Max Cachimba

A tailor-made anthology that brings together decades of comics, illustrations, paintings and other missteps by the Rosario-born artist.

The University Cultural Space of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario invites you to the opening of Oh dear! Incomplete inventoryAn exhibition dedicated to the work of Max Cachimba (Konex Award 2022) brings together decades of his diverse production. It opens on July 24 at 7:00 p.m. and is curated by Pablo Silvestri. Sponsored by: Municipality of Rosario and Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
It is at the University Cultural Space (ECU) in San Martín 750 with free admission.

The exhibition proposes a journey through the artist's creative universe, which functions as a constant and achronic succession of scenes and characters that float between eras, genres and popular references. 

¡Caramba! seems to be the perfect exclamation for something that gets out of control with grace and intelligence; an inventory that promises not order but abundance, without the pretension of telling it as a story with a beginning and an end—as happens in many of his graphic pieces. The journey resembles that of a carnival or, in Cachimba's words, a "hodgepodge of things that don't go together" and that, nevertheless, together, form a perfectly coherent whole.

About the artist
Max Cachimba is an author of comic and tragic comics, a book illustrator, and a Sunday easel painter, distinguished with the 2022 Konex Award. Since 1985 he has worked in the press and publishing fields, publishing in magazines iron, Risario, Japanese Pencil, Los Inrockuptibles y How lucky!among others, and in the newspapers Profile y La NaciónShe participates in visual arts circuits with paintings and drawings, and received First Prize in painting at the 59th National Salon of Rosario at the Castagnino Museum. Since 2007, she has presented, together with Rodolfo Marusich, a puppet theater featuring objects, variety acts, and comedic performances. The Shameless Dimension.

Among his published books are Rompecabezas (with texts by Pablo de Santis, 1995), Un Cuarto de Pollo (2002), Humor Idiota (2004), Versos Selectos (2016), La Cazadora de Libros (with texts by Pablo de Santis, 2018) and El Embrujo de Tus Ojos (2019), in addition to other titles such as copiloto.
