All planned activities will be free of charge, guaranteeing universal access to culture, education, and the rights of older adults.
The UNR's University for Seniors Program and the Rosario Municipality's Department for Seniors are launching a joint agenda of activities to celebrate and raise awareness of the rights of seniors throughout the month of October.
The "What a Great October!" initiative was launched in the context of the International Day of Older Persons, which is commemorated worldwide on October 1st. This date highlights the importance of recognizing, promoting, and guaranteeing the human rights and fundamental freedoms of this population group.
The agenda is the result of the articulation between the University for Seniors Program of the Extension Area and Territory of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and the Directorate of Senior Citizens, dependent on the municipal Secretariat of Human Development and Habitat.
"At UNR, we believe that a society is defined by how it views the treatment of children and their elders. Our aspiration is to make promoting good treatment for older adults a daily task," said Santiago Vieytes, head of the UNR Senior Citizens Program.

A diverse and participatory program
The agenda includes meetings, talks, exhibitions, and training sessions in various iconic locations throughout the city. The activities feature the active participation of faculty and students from the University for Seniors Program.
Among the highlights are cultural visits to the Estévez Museum and the Macro Museum, and a screening of the film "Autumn Miracle" at Cine E.
