Alvaro Garcia Linera
Álvaro García Linera was Vice President of Bolivia during the administration of Evo Morales from 2006 to 2019. Jorge Moscato, Mario Corea and Claudio Vekstein are architects and were awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, for their contributions to the dimension of public architecture. They received the distinction on August 21, 2020, promoted by Ana Valderrama, Marcelo Ranzini and Bibiana Cicutti, professors at the Rosario School of Architecture. Jose Carlos Chiaramonte
José Carlos Chiaramonte is a historian, professor of Philosophy and was named Doctor Honoris causa on his 88th birthday. He completed his university studies in Rosario, where he graduated as Professor of Philosophy in 1956. He developed teaching and research tasks in Argentina and Mexico, with extensive experience in the field of Social Sciences. The dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, Gustavo Marini, was the godfather of the recognition of Chiaramonte who received the Honoris Causa distinction on December 4, 2019 and gave a lecture on "The concept of the Constitution and fundamental laws in the time of the Ibero-American Independences”.
Pierre Rosanvallon
Pierre Rosanvallon is a historian, professor at the Collège de France and director of studies at the prestigious École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. Born in France, his work and academic work are related to the history of democracy, the political model of that country, the role of the State and the question of social justice in contemporary societies. His books have been translated into 18 languages and published in 23 countries. On November 22, 2019, under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science Gustavo Marini, he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa and gave a conference called "Democracy in the XNUMXst century: between perspectives of redefinition and threats of regression" .
Emerson Elias Merhy
Emerson Elías Merhy is a doctor in Collective Health and a benchmark for the Health Movement that promotes health as a human right and not as a commodity. Merhy was born in Brazil and has been the inspiration for Rosario for thirty years to emphasize the deepening of public health management. At the Faculty of Medicine, she led the talk “Technological configurations at work in PHC. Clinical practice in the territory”. The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies proposed the Honoris Causa distinction that took place on November 7, 2019.
Miryam Kurganoff of Gorban
Miryam Kurganoff de Gorban has a degree in nutrition, a professor at the UBA, and was the promoter of the creation of the network of Chairs of Food Sovereignty (CALISA) that is present in 49 public universities in Argentina. At the UNR, the Free Chair of Food Sovereignty has been given since 2017 and is located in the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and the Casilda Agrotechnical School, promoters of this distinction. The concept of Food Sovereignty seeks to offer an agroecological, biodiverse and sovereignly independent agriculture, which replaces the agro-industrial, on a large scale and homogenizing, based on input technology and directed towards export. The title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the UNR was delivered on October 28, 2019.
